One of the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce's largest networking events is the Annual Banquet and Meeting of the Membership that occurs each year in January. This formal evening kicks off with a cocktail social hour followed by a delicious three-course meal and formal program. The passing of the gavel from the MPACC Past President to the New President and the announcements of the Expansion Awards, Volunteer of the Year, and Citizen of the Year are a traditional part of the evening. 

2011 Annual Banquet, What a Great Success!

It was an "Enchanted Evening" at the Mount Pleasant Golf & Country Club as some 230 Chamber Members attended the 2011 Annual Banquet.  The evening started off with a social hour featuring an opportunity to win an I-Pad, a cooler and Cardinal baseball tickets. Music was provided by the Iowa Wesleyan College jazz group.   Free wine tasting was also included by Chamber member, Cedar Valley Winery plus Amy Becker Photography took photos for couples and businesses.  Iowa Wesleyan College President Jay Simmons welcomed everyone and performed the evenings invocation followed by dinner.  The Chamber's Board President, Andy Zinkle from Staats, kicked off the evening's program with the official meeting.  He proceeded passing the gavel to Troy Spence, 2011 President.  Acknowledgement of our Board of Directors as well as outgoing amassadors was announced.  Award recipients for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Volunteer of the Year and Citizen of the Year also were handed out.  The evening capped off with an auction of numerous gift packages donated from Chamber members.  A fun filled evening that continues to grow in attendance, we welcome all chamber members to participate in a networking event that is our premier event of the year.
