The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission (MPADC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our citizens through the creation and retention of high quality jobs in Henry County. The organization is a Partner of the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance and offers a wide variety of programs to directly assist business owners interested in locating or expanding a business in Henry County.

Consultation

The MPADC has a team of professionals willing to assist area CEOs, entrepreneurs, and site location specialists with everything from business plan development to financial strategies. Give us a call to schedule your free, confidential consultation.

Buildings and Sites

Looking for the perfect location? The MPADC keeps an updated list of area buildings and sites on our website. We also own and market CrossRoads Industrial Park, a 60 acre, fully equipped site located on the east side of Mount Pleasant.

Workforce Development

Workforce recruitment and training is a key concern for every business. The MPADC conducts a regional laborshed study and benefits survey for our employers every two years. We also organize job fairs, relocation packets, and community orientation parties each quarter for your new employees. The MPADC works closely with area employers to develop training programs that meet the needs of our workforce including our Workskills Academy with Southeastern Community College and the LEAD Institute with Iowa Wesleyan College. We also partner with the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce on Access Mount Pleasant, a young professionals organization designed to help our employers recruit and retain professionals ages 21-40.

Our team keeps updated statistics on all of the communities in Henry County. If we don't have what you need, we will help you find an alternative resource.

Incentives and Finance

Trying to find the best way to finance your new building expansion, production equipment, or start up costs? The MPADC can help. Our team has extensive knowledge of local, state, and national grants, loans, and venture capital funds that can help businesses with their financial needs. The MPADC also organizes the Henry County Business Plan Competition which offers up to $7,000 in start up funds for a new or growing enterprise in Henry County.
